The 9502C‑S20‑T Snap Caps feature a 1.0 mm thick tri‑layer red PTFE / white silicone / red PTFE septa designed to improve needle wiping during injection. Originally developed for legacy autosampler systems such as Agilent 1050 instruments, this design helps remove residual sample from the needle and supports cleaner injections.
In addition to enhanced needle wiping, the tri‑layer septa provides a modest improvement in resealing compared to standard silicone/PTFE septa. Because the caps are softer, they may not seal as tightly as rigid designs and are best used with low‑volatility solvents.
